How Suboxone Works?

Suboxone - Buprenorphine & Naloxone

Suboxone is a drug used to treat addiction. It is an oral and sublingual drug that contains buprenorphine and naloxone. It is widely used to treat those suffering from addiction to Heroin, Opiates / Opioids and even Meth to reduce symptoms as well as withdrawals from these substances. Buprenorphine is an opioid medication (partial opioid agonist). The other drug found in Suboxone, Naloxone, its used to block the effects of opiate medications (a pure opioid antagonist) which causes neurological and physical affects that lead to the substance abuse. Buprenorphine delivers a lowered and diminished doses of opioids to help reduce withdrawals caused when starting the path to recovery. Naloxone by itself sometimes can carry risk and cause too many withdrawal symptoms which is why both Naloxone and Buprenorphine are combined in Suboxone to help those addicted to opioids. Suboxone should always be taken as directed by your doctor and follow all directions on the label of your prescription.
